Introduction to the Study

Les Emhof,
MD, FACSG
The purpose of this information is to inform you of a local physician supervised clinical trial to be conducted this summer and fall by Dr. Leslie Emhof, MD of Tallahassee. He is the Principal Investigator for the clinical trial. Dr. Emhof and his research team, including Dr. Brian Bakke, a nutritional specialist and bio-chemist, have researched and tested nutraceuticals to see which work best to improve or even stop memory loss. The research being conducted is to objectively measure whether individuals with memory loss who (1) take a combination of 14 nutraceuticals (vitamins, minerals, herbs, spices and supplements) (2) in a specific dosage (3) at a specific time of day experience improved memory function. The clinical trials will be limited to 30 participants from the Tallahassee area.
As you might be aware, Dr. Emhof is a well-known physician in the Tallahassee area with a specialty in geriatrics and the Medical Director at Westminster Oaks for over 30 years. He has extensive experience in this practice with the use of nutraceuticals, in place of or in combination with medication to influence health. His clinical trials are particularly designed for those suffering from some level of cognitive impairment, dementia or memory loss including Alzheimer’s disease. The program and the trials themselves are more fully described in the enclosed documents from Dr. Emhof. All supplements to be taken will be free to program participants for the 120-day trial period.
